Goals

The Goals section allows for the manager, supervisor, and administrator to add goals and track the progress for an employee.

Goals can be reached from the menu by expanding Employee, expanding Performance Mgmt, and clicking Goals.

If you are already viewing the employee profile, you will hover over Performance and click Goals.

The "Goals" page will show any previously entered Goals for the employee.

The Actions drop-down menu will let you:

  • Create Goal
  • Submit Selected for Approval
  • Approve Selected
  • Deny Selected
  • Mark Selected as Active
  • Mark Selected as Inactive
  • Delete Selected Record(s)

Creating a Goal

  • From the Actions drop-down menu, click Create Goal.

  • Enter the relevant information for the goal. Required fields are marked in RED.

  • Click Save Goal.

Changing Goal Status

Goals Pending Submission are goals that the employee has entered on their Employee Portal, but have not yet submitted for approval. Goals Pending Approval are goals that the employee has submitted, but their manager has not yet approved.

  • Click the checkbox to the far-right of a goal.

  • To change the status of the goal between any of the following options from the Actions drop-down menu:
    • Submit Selected Goals for Approval
      • Clicking this link will mark each goal (selected in the table below) as 'pending for approval' as well as update the Date Submitted for Approval field.
      • Submitting goals for approval will not automatically notify a manager. Generally, notifications are completed through a corresponding Workflow. Employees and managers should periodically check their homepages to see if any workflows are pending.
    • Mark Selected Goals as Inactive
      • Clicking this link will mark each goal (selected in the table below) as Inactive. Any goals that should no longer be considered active goals should be marked as Inactive so as to not be considered in Reviews.
    • Mark Selected Goals as Active
      • Clicking this link will mark each goal (selected in the table below) as Active. Any goals that should be considered in Reviews should be marked as Active.
    • Delete Selected Goals
      • Clicking this link will delete each goal selected in the table below. Only goals with a Status of 'Pending' or 'Denied' can be deleted.
    • Approve Selected Goals
      • Clicking this link will mark each goal (selected in the table below) as approved.
      • Approving goals will not automatically notify the employee. Generally, notifications are completed through a corresponding Workflow. Employees and managers should periodically check their homepages to see if any workflows are pending.
    • Deny Selected Goals
      • Clicking this link will mark each goal (selected in the table below) as denied.
