Potential Rating is used in the Succession Planning module within the Talent Matrix or 9 Box view. A potential letter grade, like A, B, C or D should be assigned to an employee if planning to use the 9 Box. If a potential rating has not been assigned, the employee will not be seen within the 9 Box. The letter rating is NOT configurable and as a best practice, your organization should come up with your own definition for each letter. This should be what the manger feels as though the employee's potential is. Ratings can be assigned by the Administrator within the Employee Profile or by a Manager. From the People tab, Managers can locate the employee, go to the Rating column and select the dash to assign the letter grade.
