Understanding Security Roles for ExakTime

What are Security Roles?

Security Roles are used to control what an employee can do in the ExakTime Connect website and/or ExakTime Mobile smartphone app. This is done by creating a security role and assigning it to your employees as needed, allowing you to make security role adjustments for multiple employees quickly.

Default Security Roles

By default, we have a few security roles already made so you are ready out of the box.

  • Go to Manage in the Menu Bar and click Security Roles to view the currently available security roles.

  • You will initially see ExakTime Mobile security roles. We have included three security roles by default: Administrator, Supervisor, and Employee. Administrators have unrestricted access to ExakTime Mobile and Employees have no permissions initially. Supervisors sit in the middle with some permissions enabled.

  • Clicking the ExakTime Connect tab lets you see the two default roles for ExakTime Connect, Administrator and Employee. Administrators will access to ExakTime Connect with no restrictions, while Employee will only have permission to view their own time card by default.
