ExakTime Mobile and Device Permissions

When using ExakTime Mobile, it may request access to certain features of the mobile device.

If ExakTime Mobile is denied permissions to use these device features, ExakTime Mobile may not be able to provide the ideal experience.

The permissions that ExakTime Mobile requires can differ between Android and iOS devices and their respective version. The permissions and instructions listed below are for the latest version of ExakTime Mobile running on the latest version of Android and iOS.

Android Permissions

Location: Access to location services so any location data generated by the mobile device will be provided to ExakTime Mobile.

Camera: Access to the front-facing camera for FaceFront photos and rear-facing camera for Field Notes and SiteHub.

Storage: Access to the photo gallery on the phone to attach photos to field notes or SiteHub.

Microphone: Access to the microphone for recording an audio note for a field note.

iOS Permissions

Location: Access to location services so any location data generated by the mobile device will be provided to ExakTime Mobile.

Camera: Access to the front-facing camera for FaceFront photos and rear-facing camera for Field Notes and SiteHub.

Microphone: Access to the microphone for recording an audio note for a field note.

Allowing Permission to a Feature

When first using ExakTime Mobile, a prompt should appear asking if ExakTime Mobile can access a certain permission. When prompted, click "Accept" if using Android or "Allow" if using iOS.

Allowing Permission After Denying Permission

If a user had accidentally blocked ExakTime Mobile from accessing a mobile device feature such as the camera or locations services, the user can go back and allow access to the feature again. The steps may differ depending on the version of iOS and Android on the device.

iOS

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Scroll towards the bottom until you see ExakTime Mobile.
  3. Enable the necessary permissions.

Android

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Go to your Apps or Application Manager
  3. Go to ExakTime Mobile
  4. Press Permissions.
  5. Enable the necessary permissions.
